ABOUT THE COURSE
This course is ideal for smaller, low risk companies that only need basic First Aid cover. It is also a cost effective solution for larger, high risk companies that have many floors or workplaces or those companies who operate shift work and need basic first aid support for their staff that have completed the Three-Day First Aid at Work Course.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Nominated emergency first aiders in the workplace or anyone wanting a comprehensive one day first aid course.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN?
On completion of training successful candidates should be able to:
- understand the role of the first aider including reference to the use of available equipment
- understand the importance, of the need for recording incidents and actions
- understand the importance of basic hygiene in first-aid procedures
- assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure;
- administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock
- administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
- provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries
HOW IS IT ASSESSED?
The course is assessed continuously by one of our experienced trainers.
Duration
Usually, the course is run over a minimum of one day (6 Contact Hours).
